Mary Debono

Mary Debono is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner with a passion for improving the quality of life for animals and people. Having discovered the healing power that a heart felt connection with animals can produce, Mary created the SENSE Method as a way for people to use this connection to generate well-being and vitality in both themselves and their animal companions. Useful for all ages and physical conditions, the SENSE Method can help animals move more freely, minimize the effects of aging and injury, improve athletic performance and enhance communication and harmony between human and animal. See our Dogs and Cats and Horses and Riders pages to learn how the SENSE Method can benefit you and your animals.
In addition to teaching SENSE Method workshops nationwide, Mary maintains a busy private Feldenkrais Method® practice for people in the beautiful coastal town of Encinitas, California. Her unique work with animals and their people has been shown on TV News and in newspapers and magazines. Mary was a featured presenter at the CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) and NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) annual conferences. Over the past 20 years her animal clients have ranged from severely disabled dogs and cats to World Cup equine competitors. Mary shares her life with her husband and SENSE Method partner, Gary Waskowsky; rescued terriers Chester and Ruby; and Breeze, a Quarter Horse. Breeze, who came to Mary with fear-based behaviors, inspired the creation of Liberty Play!
